J. Nevulis, M.D.
Dr. Nevulis is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with over twenty-five
years experience since finishing his residency in orthopaedic surgery
in 1981. He also is the first fellowship trained total joint surgeon
from Pennsylvania Hospital, the nations first hospital. His practice
was established in Norristown in 1982 and he has had relationships
with all three hospitals in Norristown. He has been an attending
surgeon at Montgomery Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital and Mercy Suburban
Hospital. Presently he serves as Chief of Orthopaedics at Mercy Suburban
as well as Vice-Chairman of Surgery and co-director of the Mercy
Suburban Hospital's Total Joint Program.
He has recently published a paper related to joint replacements and
ultrasound and is a clinical instructor in orthopaedic surgery at
the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2005, he received
the Golden Apple Award from Montgomery Hospital for teaching. He
has served as the varsity football team physician for Norristown
Area High School and Bishop Kenrick / Kennedy High Schools. His focus
is on joint replacements and reconstructive joint surgery. Dr. Nevulis
is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is
a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
