
Harry S. Polsky, M.D., F.A.C.S.
General, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery
Dr. Harry S. Polsky is board certified in general surgery and
was among the first group of surgeons in the United States
to receive
board certification in general vascular surgery. He is a fellow
of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of
the American Board
of Surgery. Dr. Polsky’s practice includes general, peripheral
vascular and thoracic surgery with a special interest in the surgical
diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Dr. Polsky received
his B.S. from Ursinus College and his M.D. from Jefferson Medical
College. He completed an internship at the hospital of the University
of Pennsylvania and a general surgical residency at the Thomas Jefferson
University hospital. He served in the U.S. Army as a general surgeon
with the rank of Major. Dr Polsky’s vascular training was obtained
at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX under the world-renowned
pioneer in cardiovascular-thoracic surgery, Dr. Michael Debakey.
In addition to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Polsky has held numerous
positions at Montgomery Hospital including chairman of the emergency
department, president of the medical staff, member of the medical
executive committee, associated director of the department of surgery
and, most recently, chairman of the department of surgery. Dr. Polsky
founded the diagnostic vascular laboratory at Montgomery Hospital,
and it remains under his direction. He was chosen by doctors in the
Philadelphia area as a “top doc” in peripheral
vascular surgery by the MainLline Times in 2001.
