
Dennis P. McHugh, DO
Dennis P. McHugh, DO, is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and
a native Philadelphian. He graduated from LaSalle University and
earned his medical degree in 1996 from the Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). He continued his training at PCOM for
five additional years including one year of internship and four years
of orthopaedic residency. During his residency, Dr. McHugh was chosen
Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Services.
Dr. McHugh's major areas of interest include the treatment of sports-related
injuries as well as adult reconstructive joint and minimally invasive
surgery. His specific areas of surgical training also include general
orthopaedics, trauma, spine, hand, and pediatric orthopaedics. In
keeping with his interest in sports medicine, Dr. McHugh served as
Assistant to the Team Physician for the Philadelphia 76ers and as
a team physician for the 2006 NCAA basketball finals.
Dr. McHugh has published numerous papers on various topics ranging
from the treatment of lower extremity fractures in adults to the
treatment of specific tumors in the pediatric population.
